Study Methods for Exam Preparations

PsyESCA is running an Afrikaans Study Methods Courses that is focusing on the following:

• SMART Goal setting;

• How to manage your time effectively when studying;

• Interesting facts about the brain and how does it work while studying;

• Identifying the learner's brain dominance (left or right brain dominant) and which learning styles would work for them;

• How important it is to create the right learning environment and to help the learners identify their preferences;

• How to deal with obstacles such as concentration problems, reading difficulties, life issues that might interfere with the study time;

• Exploring the different summarising techniques (yes there is more than one);

• Exploring a variety memorising techniques;

• Learning Mathematics and which study tools to use;

• Learning Languages and which study tolls could be applicable.

 

Our focus is to make the workshop practical, where learners will get an opportunity to practice the techniques on their own school work. 

 

Course Material to be provided, learners should only bring their own textbook of choice.
